Chicken Karahi w/Raw Spices

This. This is my favorite chicken curry!!! Super easy to whip up and super tasty. It’s simple with the ingredients, but complex with flavors.  It’s perfect for an intimate family dinner yet a great dish for a big party! If you can’t tell already, I LOVE this dish. With rice, roti, or naan, you name it! Okay i’ll stop and just give you the recipe already. So exciting *shrieks*


1 whole skinless chicken cut into 24 pieces

1 sm. onion finely chopped

5-6 tomoatoes chopped

1 tblspn fresh ginger cut julienne style

1 tblspn minced garlic

2 jalapenos sliced

2 tblspn crushed red pepper (or to taste)

1 heaped tspn chilli pwdr (or to taste)

Salt to taste

½ cup chopped cilantro

½ tspn garam masala (optional)


Heat about 1-2 tblspn oil. Add onion and 1 jalapeno (sliced). Cook until onions are translucent. Add chicken and cook on high until color changes. Add the fresh ginger and minced garlic. Now add crushed red pepper, chilli pwdr, and salt and mix well. Cover and cook on med low for 15 mins. Uncover and add tomatoes and cook on high until water lessens to desired consistency. Sprinkle garam masala, if desired. Garnish with cilantro, jalapeno, and sliced ginger. Enjoy the best chicken curry everrrrr! I know it sounds super simple with spices, but it’s so tasty.
